I’d long forgotten so many tiny parts of the whole story, besides the fact that the very first time I played it I was 10 and did not understand it. The second time was more than 4 years ago, and I felt it was a really amazing ride then.

, I felt it was even better. Perhaps because it is portable, but I found myself doing things I hadn’t done before like Blitzball, which I hated before and now really enjoy it because of it being relaxing, and paying attention to all the small conversations~

The remastered OST at first made me feel like I was inside the Twilight Zone, because I’d enter a fight and expect the old one and the new sounded off. But, I can attest after 70+ hours that it’s much, much better. The old battle theme got annoying after 40h, maybe less, but this one has stayed good and fresh even now.

I was only a boy

The story was quite a ride, made me fall in love all over again and give props where I’d before not given. Lulu became much better when you talk to Luzzu, do the Fayth Cave and remember that she’s 24 and yet is so mature and had to conform herself with all these things happening: 2 failed pilgrimages, one where the summoner gave up on Calm Lands, and another where the summoner died inside Fayth; Chappu died, her fiancee, because he wanted to protect her; Yuna became a summoner, which made her feel even worse because of her failures.

‘If you want everything, you’ll end up with nothing.” The poor baby is only 24 and already saying such jaded things :C

Tidus became a favorite, and I used to think he was annoying. I feel like I came to understand him much better than what is on the surface. Tidus doesn’t hate his father, he really loves Jecht but he’s always felt beneath him and also like Jecht didn’t like him. Tidus was a very revolted person, because of Jecht and his mother, and he’s also 16-17. Tidus was pretty mature, considering all the things that happened to him. He comes to this strange land, knows nobody, gets assaulted and attacked by fiends and humans alike, Zanarkand doesn’t exist anymore, he’s considered amnesiac and/or crazy. Considering it all, I could see that he was level-headed in a lot of ways, but he also had his childish side.

All the others stayed status-quo, more or less, I thought Kimahri was hilarious with ignoring Tidus for a really long time and even going all “Don’t be afraid, Kimahri goes too.” to Tidus xD

5-6 years to Lulu

The sphere grid was not as annoying as I remembered it, in fact, it was a lot of fun just skipping every single side node (those clusters where you got to spend 1-2 levels to get to those extra 3-4 nodes) because I knew I’d catch them in the end.

bolts dodged

I started stat maxing to Yuna, and used her to fill the grid. I haven’t done the lvl4 locks yet, there’s still a lot of stuff I must do like the Dark Aeons and Penance and Tidus sigil, which I’ll murder those chocos!, and some mini-games part. I struggled with the lightning dodge, when I used to do it just fine. I got so pissed, that I said I’d do it, and I did it, lost track of time and count, I was counting 10 in 10, and when I stopped I’d been 40 minutes jumping and I had 532 dodges x’D

You always cry

The ending made me choke up, and I felt so much feels when Tidus said he was glad Jecht was his father, and Auron, and then the Fayth disappearing and everything and ffff, feels ;_; I didn’t cry, but I got so touched by the whole thing.

Monologue part 1
never forget them

I didn’t even remember half these things, and then when Yuna did her last sending, and her final monologue towards the people of Spira after Sin got defeated, and her whistling afffff ;_;

I got killed, in a good way, and I’m so glad I bought it and got to relive it in such a fresh way, knowing the major things, but it’s in the intricacies that the whole thing came together in such an honest, good way that I was tots amazed~

the end

Have you heard about this game before? Have you played it? If so, I’d love to know what you think of it!

  1. Awesome! I’m playing this for the first time and I have to say the grid is really confusing for me. I’m on the part where Yuna is being escorted to see Seymour when they get attacked by this machine and you have to use Lulu’s thundera…except I had no idea wtf I was doing with the grid so she doesn’t have thundera lol

    1. The grid is easy, you just have to zoom out and see which skills you want/are helpful/you think will be the best right now. If it’s the first time playing, the typical gris is better than the advanced.
Ooh, she doesn’t have thundera yet? You either grind, if it isn’t too far, or try to still beat it with thunder xD
You’ll be fine, FFX is pretty beginner friendly, unlike the older entries ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°

        1. No problem, any inquire and I’ll answer. I know a lot, I’ve played it since a little wittle boo that didn’t even know English and still reached the end. So no worries for you xD
