Learning Japanese With: Starry Sky 彼氏 (Partial!)

So this is pretty embarrassing to admit but I can’t really understand narration and/or polite Japanese. Which is what most audio books are. After hearing to a few free ones, I was pretty disheartened. So I plopped down and tried drama CD, expecting not to understand much.

Turns out, if it’s dialogue/impolite I understand a lot! o(^▽^)o
And that’s how I became enraptured by Starry Sky without playing the games (⌒-⌒; )

Difficulty: Yoh/Tsubasa/Kanata > Aries/ >
Ranking overall:
Ranking: Tsubasa>

Yoh or Capricornus
He’s sweet and nice. His kisses are weak sounding, but I forgive him for being so nice and gentle (❁´◡`❁)

Difficulty: 2 out of 5

Tsubasa or Aquarius
When it started I thought I was going to dislike him. He was so innocent and cheerful… Except I ended up falling so hard for those exact qualities.
Bonus: his kisses were so adorable I melted into a goo puddle and told people not to rescue me because I was exactly where I wanted to be (^∇^)

Difficulty: 2 out of 5

Kanata or Pisces
I both liked and didn’t fall in love with him. He was nice and cute, but I expected something more. After Tsubasa, it’d take something big for anyone to win over him and his utter cuteness ( ˆoˆ )

Difficulty: 2 out of 5

Sho or Aries
This is my sign and I was nervous about not liking him, or him being a douche, but I liked that he was a bit jealous and a bit more assertive and still be cute (❁´◡`❁)

Difficulty: 3 out of 5

Sadly I’ve discovered I’m not really that into drama CD’s, so I don’t plan to continue this or others. I need visuals or something to grab my attention so I can focus on what’s being said ^^’

Recommended to: Advanced Beginner, with lots of spoken understanding, maybe even Intermediate for some of the guys.

Have you heard about this drama CD before? Have you heard it? If so, I’d love to know what you think of it!

  1. Hm I can understand what you mean by needing visuals to accompany cds. However, I think it really forces you to train those listening and comprehension skills of ours.
I hope you can find an alternative to drama cds ^^
