Summer 2016 in Review

Remember my Summer Plans post? No? Well, go read it, I’ll wait 😛

I’ll just say before I even start that I underestimated what I wanted to do, or perhaps overestimated my energy/motivation haha (^_^;)

Games in English
Fan-translated games: I’m currently playing StormLover Kai, and hoping to finish it and write about it. I also want to play Tokimemo Girls Side, Prince of Tennis and Nanashi.

On the official side of things, I’d like to finish Corpse Party Book of Shadows, Golden Sun, Ys Seven, Suikoden and Final Fantasy X-2 HD. All of them I’ve already started, so it’s really just a matter of putting down time and finishing them.

Games in Japanese
On the Japanese side I’m gunning for Starry Sky in Summer and Arcana Famiglia, which received the most votes on my previous poll, but I’m not sure if I can finish them both during summer.

To do
I’d also like to write some BL and manga posts, which I haven’t written much about. Two I’m thinking about are Hybrid Child and After School Nightmare both series which I’m a big fan.

So what did I end up doing? Not a lot. I did indeed write about those works I wrote about in my to do (they’re currently scheduled, this year they’ll be out (^_−)☆ ).

Gaming

I didn’t expect to get sucked into Persona 3 Portable and end up clocking 60+ hours on it, thanks to Lilli inspiring me to try it again and this time actually succeed to reach close to the end. I just need some more timeñto finish it (^_^;)(^_^;)

I also started& finished Norn9, thanks to the lovely Lilli lending it to me ( ˘ ³˘)❤

I also got back into Otomobage (I’m coining this because otherwise it’s too long to put on Twitter handles and it’s way easier to type on the go xD; ) and tried a couple ones.

I ended up dropping Magic Sword+ because Ray called the MC a slut, it also didn’t have music and only gives 10 gems/coins from greeting & messaging friends, while in others it’s 20 to 30 total!

Another I dropped was Samurai Love Ballad Party because MC, in a free side event where I chose Saizo, was a total A-hole to Inuchiyo. She knew his feelings for her and told him “Even if you break us up it’s not like I’m going to run into your arms” and I AM NOT UP FOR THIS BITCHERY. No A-holes for me tyvm! Plus it also doesn’t have music, and is pretty cheapskate on the greeting&commenting too.

I dropped My Fairy Tales+ too for having the horrible system from Magic Sword+, plus with a luck draw using tickets to try to get a Aun card ffs.

I got very disappointed by Wizardess+, once the MC falls in love she jumps to conclusions, and makes all this angst, which tbh was disappointing because I’d been really liking it until then ORZ

The discovery of this summer in otomobage was  Destiny Ninja 2+, which really surprised me. Beautiful, amazing visual moving effects,  cute, with BGM, very giving of currency, fun to read and the story was engaging and it was quick to finish the routes without feeling too short. Definitely the highlight of them!

Oz+ was very cute and sweet, very beautiful and nice, and low on drama which I appreciate after the train wreck that was Wizardess+ (^_^;)

I thought I was going to like Nieflheim+ more than I did, but somehow it’s very slow and nothing much happens each time I play. I do like slow burns, but somehow I get the feeling there just isn’t much story to it really.

 

Studies

Started a bunch of languages because I decided I might go into tourism, and had to put Korean and Japanese on hiatus because of that. I started Spanish and Italian, leaving French, and German for after those, and will have to finish them one by one to get more used to some of them (specially French and German, which I have more trouble/dislike for).

 

Housekeeping

I did a lot of changes around on my Masterpost, because I wasn’t very happy with how it was. I hope it’s most intuitive now! (ﾉ･ｪ･)ﾉ

 

Life

I went to the psychiatrist and got medication to take, which I’ve been doing and haven’t seen any changes but I’m not sweating it.
Another thing that hit me hard was that my mom got caught in a fire, in front of me, and fell down on top of a hot eletric grill and hurt her left arm and leg badly. I felt like it was my fault for not dealing with the situation better, because I could’ve prevented it. But it was also neglect on her, and my part, from leaving the grill on and forgetting it and being away from it.

 

These have been very eventful months, and I’d like to keep doing these + a Year in Review, because I feel they’re nice to do and also keeps me in check in terms of my goals and progress. TBH, I should’ve started this sooner, but this year has been a chaotic one of me just trying things out so yeah o(；△；)o
