Even more languages in Town

submit_news

As you may or may have not known, I’ve decided I might go into tourism or translating and by doing that I’ll have to learn the following languages:

  • German
  • French
  • Italian
  • Spanish
  • English

English I consider to have it down, I could always improve it mind you. Spanish all I need is a broadening of vocabulary because my native language means I’ve been able to read Spanish since young “ψ(`∇´)ψ

The rest is trickier. Even tho I’ve given 3-4 years of French in school, I never learnt much because I’ve never liked it. Can’t say I like how German sounds either. Italian is reserved to when I hear/try it out haha (^_^;)

I can understand some of written french (ditto for Italian) because of the same reasons as Spanish, but whole Spanish is a sister language and so a lot if easy, Italian and French are cousins that have changed a lot with the years from the same base language (⌒_⌒;)

So the next few months I’ll have to put Korean and Japanese on hold while I try to get some basics into me. I don’t want to start a course and having to learn 4-5 languages in the space of 2 years from scratch. I prefer doing previous foundations so I can go and be advanced. I prefer being prepared than having to suddenly perform (҂⌣̀_⌣́)

For now imma focus on the romance languages: Spanish, French and then Italian, in terms of progression to learn the languages. I’ll leave German to the end.

My current focus will be having the basics down and being able to read, for that reason I’ll start reading some free classics after studying them so I can hone them.

I’m using a combination of apps because my Memrise queue is mostly full of Japanese and Korean, and so I have to be economical in what I had to it :”D

I’m using Memrise and Duolingo for now. I hope to knock them out of the park so I can return to Japanese (and Korean) so I can improve my skills for dating 2d men (͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

    1. Thanks, but I’m not studying all of them at the same time xD
Not that different, French, Italian and Spanish are latin languages, just like first language is (Portuguese), so if one can learn Japanese (kanji and so on) there’s nothing stopping us from learning these either 😀
