Yuri on Ice: Never Forget 7th of December (SPOILERS FOR EP 10)

Reeling from his crushing defeat at the Grand Prix Finale, Yuuri Katsuki, once Japan’s most promising figure skater, returns to his family home to assess his options for the future. At age 23, Yuuri’s window for success in skating is closing rapidly, and his love of pork cutlets and aptitude for gaining weight are not helping either.

However, Yuuri finds himself in the spotlight when a video of him performing a routine previously executed by five-time world champion, Victor Nikiforov, suddenly goes viral. In fact, Victor himself abruptly appears at Yuuri’s house and offers to be his mentor. As one of his biggest fans, Yuuri eagerly accepts, kicking off his journey to make it back onto the world stage. But the competition is fierce, as the rising star from Russia, Yuri Plisetsky, is relentlessly determined to defeat Yuuri and win back Victor’s tutelage.

I’m so happy and excited and blown away that Viktor has been in love with Yuuri since before the start of the show, and that his comments about the way he moves to the music WERE ABOUT HIS STRIPPING SOBS, also makes perfect sense why he was wanted to know more about his personal life, and was so touchy feely from the get go, considering he’d seen him naked and danced 😭😭😭

The writers did so GOOD MAKING THIS TWIST, BLESS THEM

This is such an amazing breakthrough, and I’m so glad to experience this live, this show really is pushing barriers, and I’m so stoked and hope other producers, directors, shows, any type of creators, take inspiration from this!

Whatever happens, where Yuuri fails or wins is irrelevant, he has Viktor coaching him until he retires and he’s going to marry Viktor, which he has always low key loved since a young age, and if that isn’t a win, I don’t know what is!

Also gotta give it to Yuuri for being such a good stripper and dancer, also for the twist being that Yuuri was the playboy of the town that ensnared Viktor, then left and didn’t even remember him 😭😭😭😭
