RWBY Volume 2 Continues From Where Volume 1 Left Off

The future-fantasy world of Remnant is filled with ravenous monsters, treacherous terrain, and more villains than you can shake a sniper-scythe at. Fortunately, Beacon Academy is training Huntsmen and Huntresses to battle the evils of the world, and Ruby, Weiss, Blake, and Yang are ready for their first day of class.

We come back to Vol 2 to meet new characters, new villains, and also to discover a darker side of the backstory of the world, and also of the characters, which was rather welcome as the first series was very light, and didn’t have enough depth. We get to discover more about why the girls want to huntresses, their pasts which are far darker than I thought, and I felt pretty sorry for our main girls.

We don’t get to discover why or what for the villains are doing what they’re doing, but we do get to see them interact more and gain a sense for their personalities.

We also got to discover more about one of the teachers, and before I was so-so about him, now I’m like, I LIKE HIM YES. He brought something to the series that was needed, a mentor for them to take after and to make them mature.

One thing that always stands out for me in this show is definitely the action and fighting scenes, and this time there’s loads more, hurray!

Some side characters also die, and our main cast does get endangered by death as they fight off against villains they aren’t yet strong enough to win against. One thing is grimm creatures which aren’t really intelligent, another is human beings or creatures with intelligence and cunning.

There’s also some dancing, some cross-dressing WOO, some naked male fan-service OHYEAH, and as I said, the fights this time around got upgraded and even more awesome as they fight and have to use more Dust. By using more Dust they’re using more advanced and flashy techniques, bless!

Also, DOGGIE. This volume gained A LOT from having an official pet, Zwei, which reminds me of Angelo from Final Fantasy VIII, you can see Angelo here.

The plot thickens, especially as we start doubting some characters, and wondering what’s really going on. Especially because there seems to be a struggle in power and of actions. But I won’t say who, or what, of course.

All in all, this volume 2 left me feeling like I wanted more, and so I shall continue watching this for sure!
